BUILDING A STRONGER LITHUANIAN AGRICULTURE
On August 21, 2005 US Ambassador to Lithuania visited the Auksuciai Non-profit, Teaching and Demonstration Farm for small-scale farmers, near Kursenai, Siauliai District, Northern Lithuania. Farm staff and Directors were greatly surprised by Ambassador's excellent knowledge and use of the Lithuanian language, only a few technical words were spoken in English. Ambassador was interested to learn how soon teaching seminars will be started in the new building under construction. Then he inspected the equipment, experimental crops (esp. asparagus) and tasted vegetables grown on the Farm. It should be noted that US Embassy, Military Mission, three years ago donated four trucks and a fork lift. More equipment was promised.
